2010 BTSC announced today that the club has traded Federico Higuain to Gold Coast FC in exchange for a 1st Round Pick in the 2013 BSL Draft. Higuain totaled 5 goals and 7 assists in just 1,004 minutes played last season after joining the Columbus Crew. "This has been one the toughest decisions in our club's history," said general manager Fran Toffis. "Federico is extremely talented, has shown the ability to create and score, and might even take penalties this year. Ultimately, he is a first round talent, so we feel that we received fair value while still being able to pursue retaining some other players. 2010 BTSC tallied 10 points in the first 11 matches of the season, but thanks to successful signings, upped that number to 14 points in the second 11 matches.
